Fox Hollow News
Fox Hollow welcomes new
Golf Course Superintendent Corey R. Stranzl who has been on board Since
September. Stranzl graduated from Penn State University in 2009 and is
originally from the town of Hamburg, PA located in Berks County. Corey comes
from a family of golf course superintendents so he grew up on golf courses.
Most recently he had a tenured stint at the prestigious Saucon Valley Country
Club in Bethlehem where he was a part of preparing the Old Course for the 2009
US Womens Open Championship, and also helped with the complete green and bunker
reconstruction of the Weyhill Course in 2010.
Our new superintendent has
been busy this fall, quickly implementing his style of detail oriented turfgrass
management. In turn, golfers have experienced improved course conditions and
playability as stranzl and his crew of eigth have aerated and over seeded all
the tees and putting surfaces. They have also installed over 3,000 feet of
drainage lines, constructed a new golf path for exit from the 18th green, and
overseen a cart path restoration project on the front nine, all just since
September.
Moving forward thru the
winter, plans are in the works for an additional 4,000 feet of drainage lines to
be installed, along with a massive tree pruning and removal project that expects
to clear over 100 teres from strategic areas on the golf course to further
improve conditions for a healthy turf. Fox hollow has certainly benefitted from
the recent changes and the course continues to improve each day. We look
forward to a great 2013 golfing season and invite you to come out and see for
your self !
For any questions regarding
course conditions or any of the recent changes, emails can be sent to Corey
Stranzel at CRS273@yahoo.com
